Visalandhra Mahasabha pays tributes to Amarajeevi ‘Potti SreeRamulu’



Visalandhra Mahasabha has paid rich tributes to Amarajeevi Potti Sriramulu on the occasion of his Jayanti today. Visalandhra Mahasabha members gathered at the statue of Amarajeevi near the Secretariat and recalled his sacrifice for creating a state for the Telugu people. Creation of Andhra State in 1953 was the first crucial step for the eventual formation of Andhra Pradesh in 1956. Thus Potti Sriramulu’s sacrifice resulted in not only the formation of Andhra Pradesh but also the reorganization of India’s polity on linguistic basis.

Visalandhra Mahasabha Secretary Sri Parakala Prabhakar and members Sri Chegondi Ramajogaiah, Sri Kumar Chowdry Yadav, Sri K. Srinivas, K. Vikram, kethiry Sreenivasa Reddy, Sri Padiri Ravitheja rededicated themselves to protect the unity of Telugu people and the state of Andhra Pradesh.
