చెంగల్ రెడ్డి, సెక్రటరీ జనరల్, కాంసోర్టియం అఫ్ ఇండియన్ ఫార్మర్స్ : 30 - 45 % కూరగాయ, పండ్ల ఉత్పత్తి రవాణా సదుపాయం లేక ఆంధ్ర ప్రదేశ్ రాష్ట్రంలో వృధాగా పడి ఉంది. రవాణా వ్యవస్థ స్తంభన రైతులను రెండు విధాలుగా దెబ్బ తీస్తుంది - ఒక వైపు ఉత్పత్తి కుళ్ళిపోవడం మరో వైపు దానిని తక్కువ ధరలో నష్టాలకు అమ్మడం. అదేవిధంగా ఒక వైపు రైతులు పెట్టిన పెట్టుబడికి తగిన రాబడి రాక నష్టపోతుంటే మరోవైపు పట్టణాలలో వినియోగదారులు చాలా ఎక్కువ ధరలకు దేనినైనా కొనవలిసివస్తుంది. అక్టోబర్ తొమ్మిది నుండి తలపెట్టిన రైల్ రోకో తో పరిస్థితి మరింత దిగజారుతుంది. ఇది కొనసాగితే వరి పంటకు కూడా ఎనలేని నష్టం జరుగుతుంది. రాష్ట్రంలో ముప్పై లక్షల ఎకరాలలో వరి పంట భూగర్భ జలాలపై ఆధారపడి ఉంది.గింజ ఏర్పడే దశకు చేరుకున్న పంటకు రాబోయే నలభై రోజులు చాలా క్లిష్టమైనవి.ఈ సమయం లో కరెంటు కోతతో పంటకు నీరు అందక పొతే అపార నష్టం జరుగుతుంది.
