రిప్లయితొలగించండిమీకు తెలిసిన చరిత్ర గురించి ఈ పాటికే అర్థమైయ్యింది లెండి. ఎంత బుర్ర తక్కువ వాదన కాకపోతే ఒక పక్క ప్రజాశక్తి బుక్ హౌస్ లో తెలంగాణా సాయుధ ఉద్యమానికి సంభందించి కుప్పలు కుప్పలుగా రచనలు ఉండి, అవన్నీ నిజాం రాష్ట్ర సరిహద్దులకు అవలివైపునుండి ముఖ్యంగా విజయవాడ కేంద్రంగా ఉద్యమానికి అందిన సహాయ సహకారాలు గురించి ప్రస్తుతిస్తుంటే మీరేమో మాకు కొత్త చరిత్ర చెప్పోచ్చారా? ఒక వేళ నిజంగానే ఏదో ఒక సంఘటన జరిగి ఒక లేక అర లైన్ ఎక్కడో ఉండే అనుకోండి అది చరిత్ర అయిపోతుందా? అప్పటికి ఆంధ్ర ప్రాంతంలో రజాకార్ల రాజ్యం లేదు. తెలంగాణలో గ్రామగ్రామాన వందలాది సంఘటనలు జరిగాయి. కమ్యునిస్ట్ అగ్ర నేత పుచ్చపల్లి సుందరయ్య పేరు వినే ఉంటారు. ఆయన బుక్ "Telangana people's armed struggle" కూడా ప్రజాశక్తి బుక్ హౌస్ లో దొరుకుతుంది. దానిని కాస్త చదవండి.
రజాకార్ల వ్యతిరేక పోరాటం జరుగుతోన్న సమయంలో కమ్యూనిస్ట్ నేతలు తమ భద్రత కోసం కోస్తా ఆంధ్రలో ఆశ్రయం పొందారు. కోస్తా అంధ్రలో కమ్యూనిస్టులకి ఆశ్రయం ఇచ్చిన మగవాళ్ళని చెరసాలల్లో పెట్టి చిత్ర హింసలు పెట్టేవాళ్ళు, ఆడవాళ్ళని బట్టలు ఊడదీసి ఊరేగించేవాళ్ళు. బ్రిటిష్ పోలీసులు, కాంగ్రెస్ కార్యకర్తలు కలిసే ఈ పనులు చేశారు. దోచుకునేవాడు తన ప్రాంతంవాళ్ళకి మేలు కలిగించడానికి దోచుకోడు. తన ప్రాంతం ఇంకో ప్రాంతం కంటే ఆర్థికంగా ముందుంటే తన సపోర్ట్ కోసం తన ప్రాంతానికి చెందిన చిన్నా, పెద్దా దోపిడీదార్లందరినీ పోగు చేస్తాడు. అవసరమైతే ఇతర ప్రాంతాలకి చెందిన దోపిడీదార్లతో చేతులు కలుపుతాడు. తెలంగాణాలో ఉంటూ తెలంగాణా ఏర్పాటుని వ్యతిరేకించే దానం నాగేందర్ అయితే ఏమిటి, దేశ భక్తులలాగ నటిస్తూ నిజాం నవాబులతో చేతులు కలిపిన అప్పటి కాంగ్రెస్ నాయకులైతే ఏమిటి? తెలంగాణా ఏదో కోస్తా ఆంధ్ర దయాదాక్షిణ్యాలతో విముక్తి చెందింది అంటే అది misleading information అవుతుంది.

రిప్లయితొలగించండికోస్తా ఆంధ్ర భూస్వాములు కూడా 1765 వరకు నిజాం కిందే పని చేశారు. 1765 తరువాతే బ్రిటిష్‌వాళ్ళ కింద పని చెయ్యడం ఆరంభించారు. దోచుకోవడానికి నిజాం వారసులైతే ఏమిటి, బ్రిటిష్ వారసులైతే ఏమిటి?

What is written in this Swatantra article is true and what is commented by Praveen Sarma regarding atrocities on Andhra communists by Andhra police is also true. Both need not be looked into as mutually contradictory. But as regards Telangana struggle against the Nizam those days, there was a groundswell of support from Andhra people cutting across party lines to the struggle. And Telangana people got shelters, aid, arms and all kinds of support and to this day the real fighters and their families and friends in Telangana (different from and unlike the separatist chauvinists ruling the roost now)are grateful to Andhra people for their support and cooperation.
రిప్లయితొలగించండిThe Congress government in Andhra and the Nizam Rule in Telangana both unleashed a reign of terror on the communists in both areas. That utmost repression and the heroic fight-back by the communists and their articulation of people's issues, dedication and mass mobilization were the cause for their later success in both areas (in 1952 Elections) relegating Congress to the second rank.
But as far as Telanana people's struggle against Nizam Rule and for merger in the Indian Union was concerned, both the Congress and the Communists in Andhra wholeheartedly supported and encouraged it.
I had the fortune of interviewing late Sri Yelamanchili Venkatappaiah, a dedicated Gandhian freedom fighter in Vijayawada on 29-09-1985. Among many things he told me, this is relevant here:
రిప్లయితొలగించండి"I was aware of the communist guerilla struggle in Andhra in 1948 supplementing the Telangana Armed Struggle when cruel repression was let loose against them and many activists were ruthlessly shot dead. I was very much pained and moved by the Katuru atrocity where the police paraded men and woemn of the village naked and severely beating them, made them go around the Gandhi statue. I had seriously condemned that excess and even commented before N.G. Ranga and other leaders that the post-independence police are committing more excesses than the British ever committed. They also felt very much sad and were moved by this atrocity. But Pattabi Sitaramaiah had justified that excess, quipping that non-violence was suitable against foreigners only but to tackle our own countrymen violence is a must. But in that incident Congressmen were also beaten blue and black, and hence many Congressmen had also condemned and opposed such repression. Communists carried on armed struggle against both the Nizam Rule in Telangana and Nehru rule in Andhra (especially after 1948 Police Action).
When Praveen Sarma knows very well that until 1760s Coastal Andhra was also under Nizam, and everybody knows that Rayalaseema was first under Mysore, then in the last decade of 18th century was snatched from Tipu Sultan and for a few years only ruled by Nizam and then ceded to the British in 1802, and Nizam had always laid claims to those territories - so much so that on declaring independence for Hyderabad State on 15 August 1947 he preferred those claims to the Union of India even, I don't understand why he is so bigoted to support separation of Telangana from the united State. He should realize that all Telugus are one linguistic nationality, separated into different regions by peculiar circumstances of those times. After long struggles they got united and for petty reasons and nasty parochial considerations, should they fight with each other and separate now? It is like burning the house down, saying there are some rats on the roof. How much derision we Telugus will face in other parts of India due to such mindless wranglings and separations, has he ever thought about? Marathwada and Nizam Karnataka (Bidar, Gulbarga, Raichur etc.,) were also in Nizam Hyderabad, they drew inspiration from Nizam Andhra Mahasabha of Telangana which fought against Nizam and for cultural renaissance of Nizam Andhras and for unity of all Andhras (mukkoti andhrulu okkatavvali - that was the dream) and when that dream is achieved now, why people like Praveen Sarma are bent on breaking that up I can't understand at all.
